I did some searching (don’t own a C32), and there is no evidence that there is a fuse between the alternator and battery at all. I will say that I had a new alternator installed in my W124 about a year ago that went kaput in a few days. Have you checked the voltage on the battery terminals both pre- and post- engine start?
Other than that, you might post in our regular W203 section, since the vehicles are so similar.

C32 new alt, Not Charging, Hidden Fuse
Not charging so I put in a new alternator. Still not charging. So the positive cable has a 150 amp fuse somewhere inside the vehicle. The problem is, I cant find it. With the car running, I removed the positive cable and the car died. This shouldn't happen because the alternator will keep it running. Thus, there is a break in the circuit between the alternator and the positive connector cable at the battery. Anyone know the location of the "alternator fuse"? I looked under carpet, back seats, etc. I think it may be under the ashtray IDK!
