does discount tire/americas tire charge for labor?

I looked online at the continental contipros and it said the price was $111. Now I'm at the store and they said its $139 to have it installed. Does that sound about right?

I believe discount tire direct website is tire price only + shipping. No installation. tire america/discount tire website will give you the installed price at your local dealer. so, depends on which site you looked at. If it was discount tire direct, Local tire america dealer here charged about $15/tire to balance & install, + oregon disposal fee and disposal tax ($10 IIRC) so your not to far off.

Yes, you are absolutely right! I looked at my receipt and it was actually $15 to install and tax so the price is right...

I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being ripped off. I guess I'm paranoid, I always feel like someone's trying to pull one over me so just gotta make sure.

For future reference, they also price match other dealers. I got them to price match tire rack's online price for some special order Bridgestone's and I was very pleased with their professionalism, service and willingness to fix a small problem that came up when my wheel balance weight came off a week later. No appointment and they had me back on the road in about 15-minutes from the time I walked in the door.

x2 on America's tire. Recently went with America's tire for new wheels/tires for my E-420. I'm also a loyal Les Schwab customer. Les Schwab didn't have any wheels I liked and their tires were getting expensive. Local Americas tire store found me wheels that aren't on the website. (Chrome 17" AMG 5 spoke replica's) also had the tires I wanted. End cost was less than Costco, Les Schwab, Tire rack, and the service was outstanding. They caught one of the wheels with very minor cosmetic issues, sent me on the way with the wheel while they got another one. took a few weeks to get it in stock and gave me $40 back for the wait.

Definitely will go back when I need truck tires.

I strongly suggest spending the few extra $$$ for the Michelins. They will last longer and porvide you improved ride quality and handling than the Pro Contact's. Made a Huge difference on my E-class.
