Early 80's 190E (W201) AMGs?

So it's been awhile since I've dabbled in the Benz world. I have a couple of what I believe to be early 80's 190E AMGs. My dad and I bought them around 15-20 years ago with the desire to get them back on the road and that never materialized. I am now looking to sell them as life has changed and there is just no realistic way that I'm going to be able to do these cars justice. These cars are located in Ohio so if you are interested, please feel free to shoot me an email.

So, I have a couple of questions:
Is there any way that I can verify whether or not they are truly AMGs?
If these are AMGs as I believe that they are, is there a place to post them on this forum? I didn't see a W201 section within the AMG forum.
Here are the two VINs:
WDB20102412010093 (black car) --> I believe that this one was a 1983 gray-market Euro/Canadian AMG. It was reportedly wide-bodied by AMG.
WDB20102410008351 (white car) --> I recall very little about this one.

And a few pics to go along:

I can only suggest you get the VINs and contact AMG in Affalterbach, Germany directly. They might be able to cross check with their records. Who knows? You might have a real barn find here.

Try duplicating this post in our W201 forum, I'd bet there'll be a couple guys who'll know how to look these cars up properly.

I suggest you go to the Mercedes-AMG-Classics.com site. Forums much like here. I'm far from an expert, but IMO the white car isn't, and just has a badge. Wheels and spoiler don't look like anything I've seen from AMG cars of the era. The black car is a better bet. Not sure of the rear spoiler. The steering wheel looks legit, as do wheels. Seats look like what could have been provided at the time. Ground effects and rear quarter conversion could be. But, the automatic transmission doesn't seem to go along with the rest on a 201 body. I could easily be wrong.

From what I understand, there is no (or next to no) "true" verification of pre 1991 cars. The AMG guys had several "authorized" distributors in parts of the world who could do any combination of modifications ordered, and I think VIN recording of what to which was not a priority.

The black car looks pretty cool. The state of it is too bad, though. Hopefully somebody could bring it back to life. Needs a lot of work, for sure. Hence, what ever AMG provenance and what ever impact it has on the value might be overruled by its condition.

Good luck!

The Black one could be a 3.2/3.4/3.6 Litre if you are lucky! :-)
