G Wagon Light Bar Mounts & Side Step Protection

Most have seen the mods I did to my 4x4 squared. I wanted to add a front light bar to the Factory Brush Guard however there was no nice, clean mounting system. Furthermore, since the tubes are in metric format no standard clamp would work. I decided to design and machine some clamps. I did these in house on my CNC machine. I made a small run of 10 of them. They fit on the factory brush guard and will fit Baja Designs 24" Onyx LED light bars as well as the cheaper chinese ones. If anyone is interested in a set let me know. They are $129.99 and I likely won't run another batch as it is expensive and time consuming to do.

Wiring a switch into the cab is extremely easy. Takes no longer than 20-30 minutes to install a light bar.

I also got sick of scratching my side steps getting in and out of the car. I laser cut some grip tape to the dimensions of the side edge. I have a few sets of these for $29.99 if anyone wants. Just peel the backing and stick them on.

Interested in the mounts. Do you have a photo from further away to see how it looks?

Depending on how that particular grille guard was designed/built, the tube itself can rotate. The one that I saw this happen to was a factory guard and it had the same style clamps on it. The clamps held, but the heavy lights worked the tube loose on washboard.

Also, how did you run the wires for the led bar and install the switch?
