Clutch cable

I am sure this was posted before but i could nt find it:
Having just fitted a Nokia Carkit to my G as the new rules in the UK are that from NOV1st it is illegal to use a cellphone while driving unless it is hansfree I noticed while working under the dash that the rubber seal bellows where the cable goes thru the body was OILY and it was black like engine oil is there any reason for this. It did nt feel like clutch fluid or smell like it either. Everything works fine too. any ideas.

I hope it's a push rod, not a cable. They can leak past the seals and come out on the rubber bellows. Master cylinder may be in the need of rebuilding. There are kits available from MB.
