I have replaced the k40, all the plastic fuel lines, both fuel filters. When cranking will pull fuel up to fuel filters still no start. When stop cranking the fuel goes back down fuel heater. I pressurized the tank with compressed air. Still no start. We can hear sav click and feel it click when key is turned on. Anyway to diagnose lift pump failure? Car was running fine 1 week ago, parked it in a garage and 1 week later. Don’t think it’s algae. Have not check fuel screen on tank.

Did you replace orings at prefilter and SOV?
Top off your tank for easy priming after the job.
Without high fuel level - it does takes lot of cranking.

We changed all the plastic lines is there a separate orings for that sav. Next step is changing the strainer on the tank don’t want waste 20 gallons of fuel.

There are only the ones on the fuel lines, unless you remove the sav and then there is one between it and the injection pump. There is an extra large oring on the pre-filter that people often miss. There is also an oring where the return line fitting goes into the filter assembly, which if it leaks air can let fuel go back to the tank. If you put a vacuum device on this port you can draw fuel through most of the fuel system. Since you say that the fuel runs back, you have an air leak somewhere or the fuel would not run back.

Garage
How long did you crank? Takes at least 7 or 8 tries before the system gets primed, assuming you don't have any leaks.
