2005 500 CLS - CD-player cover not moving

Hello everybody,

I'm new and happy to be part of the group.
I recently bought a 2005 w219 CLS 500 and wanted to upgrade the infotainment, so I replaced the Comand with an aftermarket Android-ready version. Since then, the automatic CD player cover no longer works. The CD player uses fiber optics that are no longer connected because they are not compatible with the new Android headunit.

I removed the CD player because I wanted to use the space for a hard-disk and USB jacks.
Of course I did it, but the automatic cover does not open anymore - you can hear the electric motor doing a rattling sound but the cover doesn't move).

Sometimes even without the ignition key inserted you can hear the motor trying to open the cover, but to no avail.

Do you have any idea how to get the CD-player cover working again?

Thanks in advance!

Try reversing fiber optic wiring in attachment covering 211 (should be the same) this will remove CDC from MOST loop. However, note instructions apply to original coupling that was connected to OEM radio not sure how this relates to Android unit. Re-coding MOST loop to remove CDC using MB SDS may also be necessary but again, not certain how this applies to Android install.
