Bent Rims

It seems like at least once a year I end up with a bent rim. Before going out of town, I had the wheels balanced and rotated. The currently bent wheel has two bends, and was already repaired twice over the last few years. I've read this is relatively common with Mercedes from mid 2000's-early 2010's. I deliberately avoid recessed manhole covers and potholes to the point of not being able to sit back and relax, but it just happens anyway. Is there any recourse for this? I find it unacceptable that such things would happen on Mercedes.

I feel your pain. My 2009 CLS has needed to have bent rims straightened 9 times. Absurd. I'm also very careful in how I drive.

Did the dealership ever recommend replacing one of the rims that kept bending, or do they just keep straightening them?

No advice from here, but I bought mine and found 3 cracked chrome rims. The dealer paid for all of them to be repaired and I have had two repaired since then, but they were covered by warranty from the first repair. Next time I will just replace all four with new rims. Good luck!

You save money by finding your own machine shop to straighten a rim, $75 USD, GUY SAYS MERCEDES RIMS ARE SOFT, HE DOES A LOT OF THEM.
