Headliner replacement possibility
I recently had the misfortune of dead tree libs falling on my CLS 550 in a parking lot. The roof may need to be replaced. If so, would this be a good time to replace the headliner if I wanted to switch to the AMG-style Alcantara? With my interior being the cashmere leather and stone (light gray/off white) headliner unless I'm mistaken about the correct name for it, what would be the right color/code to match the current shade if an OEM part is ordered? Maybe they don't offer that color in the CLS Alcantara headliners. In the absence of the roof being removed, how is the headliner shell even removed anyway from the 4-door vehicle? Are they recovered while still inside?
The parcel shelf is presumably charcoal or anthracite (a dark gray like the upper dash leather that frankly appears to have a slight blush tint). Maybe a cashmere Alcantara parcel shelf would look good if they offer an OEM one.
Also, over the years it looks like some dinginess reoccurs on the edge of the b-pillar fabric just inside of the weatherstripping (both sides). I can't find any signs of a leak. Is it rain that stains/mildews if anyone else has had this issue? If I replace with the same material or Alcantara, I don't want it to reoccur (it does a little after cleaning it a couple times but the cleaning leaves a water stain that gradually expands).
