clk55 valeo radiator?

04 clk55 11/03 build date. I've seen anything after 09/03 is absolutely safe? I will have to confirm if I can find any markings on my radiator.
I've had the car 3 weeks (only on the road for 80 miles) mostly laid up from breather leak then gasket leak a week later. I recall reading a
post stating the clk55 transmission should be really smooth, I wouldn't agree based on my limited experiences. I've noticed some downshifts
when "coasting" downhill and it's a little noisy with whirling ? type "gear shifting" sounds on downshifts. The transmission was serviced
just before I purchased, I would hope I would have been FYI'd if something was discovered.

It's fairly easy to tell based on the style of crimps use to connect the metal radiator to the plastic tanks.

This is the Valeo:

This is the Behr:

dgdrx,,,
Even if you have a Valeo,, with a build date of 11/03 it should be fine.

Re The transmission ,, you could try resetting the adaptive shifts,,,

Also , sometimes services have not been done as claimed ...what exactly was done ?,,,,get a correct trans 722.6 dipstick and check the fluid level and quality,
If in doubt , drain the fluid , replace the filter and gasket and the electrical connector bushing...
It is a fun DIY. project.

When I got my CLK55 it would do some harsh downshifts at low speed ,,,after doing all the above,,,it is now quite smooth.
