Hey, quick question, do W209 rims work on W208?

I have a 2005 CLK500 with AMG rims that look a lot like those but aren't chrome.

Tire sizes are 225/45/17 and 245/40/17.

I ordered some CLK63 rims & tires as my X-Mas present to myself. (Santa stopped showing up when I was 10 or so, bastard)

Anyhow, once I check out the 63 rims, I will likely need to get rid of the AMG CLK500 rims. They are factory stock rims, say "AMG" and are in decent shape.

I am located in LA. Currently have Pilot Sports on front and Conti Contact on back

Also these, from a quick google search?

Don't know if the auto-link will work, you might have to copy and paste the link into your browser.
Thanks, Hawk. I appreciate you taking the time to find those. Looks like there are some out there. Like anything else, it's a matter of finding either a set or be super patient and piecemeal together a set over time. Because shipping them from a distance adds about 25% to the whole purchase, it becomes a fun cat-and-mouse game!

Nice of you to post, @93SoCal400E ; thank you. The 209 AMG wheel is very similar to the 208; the difference lies with the slope of the five spokes. My only (semi)concern is keeping the car "all original," but given that it's going to take a long time for my 208 to become a classic, I'm definitely willing to consider alternates.

When time permits, perhaps you can snap a pic of them, and I'll have a look? I'm in San Diego and spend plenty of time in North OC, so if there's a deal to be done, proximity is not a problem. Perhaps we take this offline to PM?

OK, will do.

The 1st owner (I'm 2nd) had them refinished a couple times so they looked really good when I bought car a couple years back. Little curb rash on one or 2.

I'll grab stone pix in next few days.

Passenger side.

Markings from inside of rear rim.

Car only has 27K on it, first owner rarely drove it.

UPDATE: While posting for a guy with key problem in another section got an email from UPS. They say new rims and tires here tomorrow. Once I put them on and verify that the car isn't shaking at speed, etc these original AMG rims will be available. I am near the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and would love to not have to store them or deal with CL.

Can get better pix in daylight tomorrow if that would help.

So UPS brought my B-Day present today.

My CLK63 wheels got here.

So I need to unload the original 27K AMG rims for CLK500.

Will do daytime pix in sunlight tomorrow or Wed.

Are these the W208 ones?

If so, might be worth getting part number if not going with this guy.

Mercedes benz 17 AMG whees rims

I wrote him and pointed out that he transposed 2 digits in part numbers

should be:

FRONT:
17X7.5 ET37
Part Number:1704010102
REAR:17X8.5 ET30
Part Number:1704010202

Thanks for posting this. Yours are close to what I'm looking for, but they're not the same 208 design. Notice on your wheels that the hub is thicker—and each spoke is thus shorter and its sides have a sharper angle to the rim—as compared to the design on my chromed wheel (attached pic). I prefer the more open space design of mine. And, though it's kind of nutty, when I see the design like yours, I can't help but think of the Carl's Junior hamburger star.

It may be hard to find my wheels in non-chromed version. And while I certainly can live with the chrome, the bigger problem is the air leakage. I'm going to take the two leaking ones back to the place where I bought the tires and see if they can put any sealer in them. The left rear in about a week loses more than 10 pounds of pressure; the right-front leaks much more slowly. It's the constant checking and filling that's the bigger drag right now.

Does anyone know if nitrogen works better—bigger molecule, perhaps? Or is it the other way around...

Nitrogen is not going to help if your rims are leaking. I don't think they even help that much from leaking thru the tire. Air is 78% nitrogen after all!

Keep your eyes on Craig's list. They seem to come available in waves. There may not be a listing for weeks and then suddenly there's two or three.

I found mine at a smog shop. Got the set for $350

The rims with polished lips (machined) are OEM. The all paint and chrome wheels I believe are remanufactured/refinished.
