Exclamation New member question on 2013 E350 Coupe

Hello,

There is a clicking noise coming from the topside at a rate indicative of one out-of-adjustment valve lash. Removing the oil filler cap while running (it's then louder) definitely indicates top end of engine. Are the valve gaps adjustable or is it more likely a timing chain tensioner? Car has 26k miles and always serviced with Mobile 1.

Thank you for your replies, observations.

Your engine has hydraulic lifters. Noisy lifters aren’t usually a problem, but sometimes it’s worth replacing them.
