How to change roof

Hi All,

I am wondering if anyone has any schematics or videos on how to change out the roof of an E200? I have heard this is really difficult and wondering if this is something I should be tackling?

Cheers

I replaced the canvas on my CLK550, which is pretty much the same job as the E-Class. It was not easy. I used WIS for the instructions but they left a lot to be figured out. See here:

It took me an entire weekend, working at least 12 hours each day. There are a lot of straps and connections to be mad in the C pillars and around the rear glass. The zippers are also a major pain.

My advice (and also based on the other things you are doing) is to get your own copy of WIS. Here in the USA, you can buy it on eBay for $20+/-.

Hi,
Thanks for the advice, I will definitely look to buy a copy. I am actually changing the entire roof, not just the canvas, I have all the mechanisms except the hydraulics. Would this be easier or covered in the manual?
Cheers

Actually, replacing the entire roof is "simpler" but not necessarily "easier". And yes, WIS would cover that.
