Bump start by connecting battery to starter solenoid

I have the dreaded no power to starter problem. Nothing happens when I turn key to start. Battery new and fully charged. Starter worked fine as always earlier in the day. NSS bypassed. Alarm system bypassed. I need to get the car to my mechanic back home (100 miles). I bought a remote starter gizmo to connect battery to starter solenoid to see if I can get it started (1995 e320 Cabriolet). Anyone have any advice or photos? Right now I'm renting a car (expensive!) and just need to get my Benz started so I can get it home and get it fixed. Many thanks

Welcome to the Forum. Wish I knew more about your generation E class. I have had a situation where a new battery wasn't topped off with acid. It was a month old, started having random electrical issues and finally figured out the acid was low. I wasted a lot of time removing the starter, testing alternator etc when all I had to do was top off my "new" battery.

Start with the simple stuff and try not make assumptions. It's all a process of elimination.

Thanks. Agree about the simple stuff. Battery tested fine. No bad fuses but I replaced them anyway. Starter tested fine. It started fine that day after work. It was raining hard. I stopped to pick up some cleaning and when I got back in...nothing. Going to check the NSS circuit today but I'm probably going to have to connect battery to solenoid to get it back home. Can't find anything on exactly how
