GL550 vs GL450

I find the GL550 having a better looking than the GL450, especially the bottom.

Is there any difference between the GL550 and GL450 in term of shape?

Other than the widened fenders, huge grille, 21" AMG 5 spoke wheels, quad exhaust tips, chrome roof rails and GL550 badge? nope.

I would opt for the GL550 personally, I know the price difference is quite large but the way it drives is worth it IMHO.

I'm considering either 2011 GL450 or 2009/10 GL550 and wanted to know if someone who had both of them can provide me a real comparison except the difference of exterior such as gas mileage difference (since dealer claims 550 drinks significantly more than 450) or comfort, etc...

I just traded our 320 CDI for a 2010 GL550. We got 17 on the highway and about 15.5 to 16.5 combined. Better than I expected. I do seem to drive it easier than the diesel. It has less "lag" from a stop. I found myself giving the 320 the beans to get it going. I got 21 and 23 for the diesel. but the price difference from 3.79 for the oil and 3.25 for the gas lessens the financial blow.
