Backup Camera - Can you retrofit existing GL450's

Many GL owners took delivery of their GL's before the option was available...

Now that it is available, is it possible to add this feature to an existing GL? I'm more interested in MB doing the work, rather than an aftermarket product, but would like to hear from anyone who's done it, factory or not.

Thanks...

I wanted it too but the dealer quoted me at least $2k so I am looking for an aftermarket product. I can't imagine that it should be more than $800. I know many people with other SUVs that have retro fited the procutct into thier nav system.

I was one of those unfortunate first buyers who took an aftermarket camera. As the vehicle moves forward, vibration in the bumper causes the camera to tilt on its axis. After a while, the image on the screen is slanted at 45 degree. Also, when the navigation is displaying its map image, backing up causes the image to simply roll as if on a 1950s television set.

Junk. Junk. Junk. Installed at the dealer. Junk.
