Center Caps for BBS KBA40399

I had one of the center caps stolen off my KBA40399 BBS rims.

I know that the Mercedes logo is a separate piece center cap and can find those, it has the MB part number stamped on the back (1074000025). However, I can't seem to find the piece that snaps into to offset the center cap outward, the center cap extension if you will. I don't know what it is really called, so that is part of the problem searching for a replacement.

See pic, it would be what I have the red arrow pointing to.

Any help is appreciated! Or if someone has one like this for sale, let me know. Thanks.

No doubt these can be hard to find. I haven't ever owned caps like that, but you might find yourself switching style of caps just to be able to get a match set.

Yeah, I had that feeling based on the trouble I have had searching for them.

Any thoughts on options that look good I can switch to?

Welcome to the forum. Its not an answer to your question, but on an international forum it helps to have at least a general location in your profile.
Adding the chassis / model of the car doesn't hurt either.
FYI: Roland500SEL in Germany specializes in rare Mercedes wheels and parts.

Thanks for the advice, all updated now!

I have a gray market (from Germany) 1981 230CE. It has the optional 5spd manual transmission and the BBS rims you see in the photo.

I'd REALLY like to get a replacement cap like I have for the originality. From what I understand it is very rare. But if I can't find it, I'd like to go with something that will look similar and period correct if possible. Maybe just the Mercedes star without the spacer would be simple and look good.

Good plan, but I'm afraid that you will need the spacer for the front grease caps.

PM me if you want me to see if I have a spare set of all stainless caps. If I recall correctly, I have a tall set that is probably nearly 3" tall, which must be for the huge w126 front grease caps or something. The ones in the foreground in this pic:

These rings are a nightmare! It took me more than 5 years to complete one set!

I will keep my eyes open, but maybe its easier to use the ones from Fonzi, if he has set for you.
@Fonzi - the smaller ones will do!

Cheers from Germany

Unfortunately I don't have any spares in the smaller ribbed style (nor have I found any on eBay) and I like them better. So the big ones are the only spare set I think I have.

I've got two freshly refurbed sets of 8x16 et11 bbs ra238 and two set of those smaller ribbed caps (shown on the 7x16 et23 bbs ra237 above) I think.

Sifting through the millions of listings on eBay when I search "bbs center cap" and these are two cheaper options I think, but you should verify first!!
