New to the site so go easy on me.
I picked up a 2000 Sprinter for free there at the weekend. Its got 200miles on it and the body work is perfect. Guy just wanted rid of it.
Its got some engine trouble though.
Basically when its running I can see puffs coming from a small hole in front of injector 1.
By the time I had driven it home maybe 10 miles, there where two more holes to be seen around injector 2. One at 6 o'clock as you look at the injector and one at 12.
Could someone tell me is this a common problem, is it a Head issue or just a seal around the injectors that needs replacing.
not a major problem, I deal with this every day, just need the right equipment :-)
yes, with the right equipment, try removing a stuck injector with out a puller or not cleaning the head and injector faces without the correct tool you will brake something or end up doing the job again soon after
The head needs not be removed, the injectors need to be removed, there is a chance of the clamp bolts snapping, then there is a chance of the injectors being stuck, its important to make sure the seals are removed and the seats cleaned/refaced, where abouts are you based, I offer nationwide service and carry most parts on my van. 07932 742 452 to discuss this further
