On my 311cdi the EDC light has started coming on when i change fron 1st to 2nd gear then goes into limp mode, but is ok again if i stop & restart it. What could be the problem? thanks
I have a 2004 Sprinter Van that did the same thing. I replaced the mass air sensor and air temperature sensor (both easy to get to on right behind radiator). I also replaced the air filter. I had previously replaced the fuel filter thinking that it was the problem.
It corrected the problem by itself and the check engine light went out after two days and the van runs fine now. You can purchase the air temperature sensor, mass air sensor and air filter for less than $100 from Euro Parts.com in San Diego, California
