Hi all, I recently purchased 2001 Sprinter 313 CDI swb. It's started to make a choofing noise which sounds more like an exhaust leak. At first it would come and go but now it's much louder and there all the time & you can see fumes around the rocker cover. I've been told the injector/s are leaking compression causing it carbon up and now it's seeping from the side of the rocker cover. I could really use some help and guidance as this is a big job and concerned the injectors may be seized in. I could really use some help diagnosing wether I need to replace the injector/s or wether the seat/seal can be replaced alone providing they are a replacement part and obviously if that's whats causing the leak and not the injector itself. Thank you in advance.
yes it is an injector leaking and yes you can just replace the seal, if the injector is not damaged or faulty, The job can go either way if the injector is stuck in it is a pig of a job! Don't suppose you are nere me in Harrogate n yorks?
I specialise in removing siezed injectors, and re cutting the seats the injectors sit in. As a last resort you can use me as i travel up and down the country doing these and saving the engines, aswel as "start error" rectification. williamsdiesels.com for all the info
