Unhappy sprinter van loss of power

2001 sprinter van base Hymer motorhome. Just been serviced in UK and driven 1000mls approx. Power loss up hill even when driven in first gear maually the vehicles behind are sounding horns. It is doing about 20 mph up hill and seems to generally less powerful overall. Also oil light has come on despite at service 9 litres and new filter etc. Worried about moving it just about to drive 600 miles. Help

Sounds like limp-home-mode, unless there really is an issue with oil pressure. Did you check the engine oil level from the dipstick? Is it an oil level warning light or oil pressure warning?

It could be as simple as MAF but you would need to have fault codes read to make it easier to figure out the actual issue. If you can solve the oil warning, you could drive to the closest service at least.

Do you know which Sprinter model is it built on?

I have not been to the vehicle yet to find out it was a driver who said oil light on. He then rambled about min and max. The van is a 2001 2.7cc sprint shift auto that is all i know, I have never driven it. Much as I love my S class i have never formed a relationship with "the camper". I called the guy in the UK who did the service he was not very helpful said it may be too much or too little oil and the power loss may be a faulty reading from the switch which regulates the fuelling composition
