How do I disable daytime driving lights ??

Hi I have just bought a new Sprinter 315cdi LWB. Although I live in the UK, it is Irish spec and it has those bloody annoying daytime driving lights. Ok.. they are not a bad thing in wintertime, but with summer (hopefully) on its way. I dont want everyone flashing me to tell me that my lights are on. You can disable the dipped beam by turning the sidelights on but I don't always remember to do it in stop-start driving.
I have studied the handbook but I can't find any mention of a fuse or relay that controls them. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Cestrian

I assume you don't have the steering wheel buttons ! if that is the case then I think you will have to take it to the dealer to have it switched off.

If you have the steering wheel buttons, it can be done by yourself, look at page 103 in the Operating instructions.

Thanks for the quick reply Radio two. As you correctly guessed, I don't have the steering wheel buttons. It looks like I will have to put up with it until it is due for its first service @ 24000 miles.

Thanks but it's not quite that easy for me. The dealer that I use has the van mechanics in on the night shift. This usually works in my favour as I can drop it off in the evening and it's usually ready for work the next morning. As I said, I will probably persevere with it until the service is due.

Hi Radiotwo sorry to hi-jack this thread but was wondering how you are getting on with your new sprinter? I seem to remember reading you were having an issue with payload hows that going? Have you had any other problems? Whats the auto box like, better or the same as the sprintshift?
Regards Darren

Hi Darren

No problem with hi-jacking the post, as you put it, but as far as the the sprinter is going Well ! Just awaiting a letter from Merc to offer me a refund, as yes it is over weight, but they cannot find where the extra weight is.

I have had no other problems, but I never tried the Sprintshift, but this auto box is great, I have heard some stories about the sprintshift, but this seems fine.

When I got is I did send acouple of PM's to you, but never got a reply
