Sprinter substitute?
HI Guys
As some of you may remember my old 312D suffered flood damage in Gloucester last year. I am now looking to buy another van and had planned on buying a newer sprinter but with the new Low Emission Zone in mind I'm going to have to spend more than planned! (ie newer, post 2001-2002 are compliant)
Is there a cheaper sprinter substitute or next best that nyone could recommend?> I have looked at the likes of vauxhall movano, renault traffic, iveco daily but yet to drive any.
Any help appreciated
Regards
Jay
P.S I enjoyed the power and torque of the 312 and would like to match, reliability wise too!
These are sopposed to be alright if you are buying new but once they get 100k on the clock things start to go wrong ie gearbox, axle, engine. However a friends got one as a tipper now about a year old and not had much problem, except rear main oil seal leaked but was put right under warrenty. Just dont seem to have the strengh that the sprinter has!!
Am a big fan of the Eurovans/Caravelles. I found them to be exceptional values for general utility and people hauling. Thought about moving up to Sprinter when it first came out, but decided to hold on to it a few more years. I think the VW models, albeit not as large, are more than adequate substitutes.
