I have a 97 308D with 415k on it, obviously it has a few niggles, but the most annoying is the left hand indicator doing double time. This is due to the wing mounted indicator not working, I have changed the bulb and cleaned up the contacts but to no avail. The right hand one has done this at times as well, but is OK at the moment.Any ideas anyone ?

Hi j4
It will be down to a bad connection or a broken wire, take off the fitting from the wing, and check the wires behind, if you cannot see a broken wire then check with a volt meter (leave the indicators on !) (if it is a anolog meter, the meter will go up and down) if the power is there at that point, then check out the bulb connection.
if there is no power at that point at all, try putting one of the test leads onto bare metal and either of the connections to the lamp holder, if you still don't have any joy, the last resought is find which is the -ve wire(by using a multimeter on resistance measurment) then running a new wire from the +ve wire of the front indicator fitting
have a look behind the head light there is another connector for the side indicator wiring and it is possible that this is corroded, check the wiring in this area also for damage
There are two small grey relays at the bottom of the fuse panel try replacing the indicator one....i've had a few go and they exhibit similar probs, you may want to remove the 'handlebars' [indicator/wiper arm assy] and see if the contacts are dirty....
