Done 2000 miles this week and my sprinter smells of burning oil.
I took off the pastic cover that covers the injectors and it is all coated with tar under their but i wondereded if it is the cam cover leaking do i have to take out the injectors to do this
I have also head "diesel smells" in my van. The other day I had the bonnet up and facing a source of daylight. When I went to the passengers side I could see daylight through a one inch hole about level with the glove box. It has one wire coming through it. I presume that there must have been a rubber grommet at one time.
I have sealed the hole up with some butyl rubber ( self almagamating rubber tape)
and the smell has stopped. I am sure there must have been a continuous blast of
smell air coming through there. In fact I can recall our pet dog, doing some "funny sniffing" when sitting on the floor in front of the passenger.
