Cruise Control - Sprinter UK - Benzworld.org

Hi. This is my first post here. I`ve just bought a 311 LWB, and am looking for a suitable cruise control to keep my licence relatively safe. I`ve seen an ad on the net for a company called Merc Tec in Hull advertising a system using original MB parts. Anyone got any experience of them?

Why not just have the speed limiter switched on, All cdi sprinters have them, they just need setting up on the star diagnostic.

Reply: Is that something an MB agent has to do, or might MB specialists be able to do this. BTW, being new to MB, what exactly is star diagnostic? Is it operated from a laptop?

The star machine is MB's own diagnostic laptop, dont know if your MB specialist could set the speed limiter, would depend weather they have the star machine, its used by some large fleet maintance companies, such as a friend of mine looking after tesco and sainsbury home delivery vehicles. Id imagine that its very expencive and you'd have to meet curtain criteria before MB would sell you one, then of course you need the software updates as models change.

I`ve now had cruise control fitted by Merc Tech in Hull. This particular kit uses M. B. standard parts, and fits very well. I am very impressed with it`s operation, and am now managing to achieve around 29 mpg empty, and around 27 loaded. I would certainly recommend Merc Tech who were both friendly, and professional. I picked up several tips on maintenance issues, and items to check in the event of breakdowns, common to Sprinters. I shall certainly use them again.

hi i am one of the bosses of Merc Tech and we have full dealer level diagnostic computers, and are able to carry out speed limiting on all sprinters, and can diagnose all mercedes cars and smarts.
