hi all im new here and have been searching the forum to help with my van problems
its a 2001 208 cdi 4cyl 2.2
in the morning it starts fine no problem at all you can drive for sometimes 10 miles before the problem happens or sometimes 50 miles , the problem i have is the van looses power and dropes to 60 mph and wont rev over 3k revs (sounds familiar) if i turn it off instantly and bump start it again it picks the speed back up instantly and goes fine again ,ive had it on the computer at merc and no fault codes listed , i thought it was a sticky waste gate on the turbo so removed the turbo checked and cleaned but all seems ok ,
also if i drive for a few miles then stop for a few min then go to start again it takes ages to fire up again , just keeps cranking (probley a min)it will start if i keep cranking but its not right
no air bubbles in the fuel line
ive done a few things but still seems the same
changed the o rings in the comman rail (at the back)
cleaned the waste gate and turbo
had it on the merc computer
changed the turbo vac unit under the air fillter
new fuel fillter
blew all the fuel lines out
changed the one way valve on the fuel fillter
i can normall sort most things out as ive been in the motor trade for a few years now but this one has got me stumped , must say i dont fix cars and vans for customers now as ive moved into motorcross bike repiars
whe i an driving and the van starts to slow dond and then i turn it of and bump start it im thinking its resetting the ecu , hope this dont mean i need a ecu
the van has done 240 k but has fuul merc history and when its running its good just these two problems that i need to get sorted
