311 sprinter start error and others

can anyone help

I got in my van thismorning the battery was low but not flat (overexuberant use of the lights the night before) put the key in the ingnition thrund to be greated by "start error" and nothin else

I understand this is an imobliser problem
tried both keys, nope
checked all fuses, nope
banged my head against the wall, nope

I belive there is a trick with the keyfob, but haven't found out what. any clues?

I also have a poroblem before this happend, not a big one just odd, if I was driving and put the lights on, the engine revs would drop of and then return.

also when parking if I have my foot on the brake and turn the ingintion off it would keep running untill I take my foot of the brake

odd ones I know but any ideas? apart from taking to the van computer with a large hammer!

Rob

Sorry this looks sad!

but foud out the answers to my problems, just thought I would let you know incase someone else has this problem.

we did all the usal try each key check the fuses

we drained the electronics disconect the battery by both terminals and then put a load across it (not the battery) eg a light bulb (it wont light so don't worry) and leave it like that for a while (I bielve it can be as much as 30 mins on some pergots or citrones)

the other thing that probably clinched it was an extra fuse not listed in the handbook or anywhere else had come out, the second row of fuses under the drivers seat should have a 10A fuse in it and apperntly it drops out quite easily ( duck tape for mine now)

Hope this will help someone in the future.

Rob.
