2004 sprinter speed govenor - Benzworld.org

I have had situations (running high speeds on Americas Interstate highways) where it was actually dangerous when I could not get my Sprinter over 83mph. This happens when trying to pass big Semi trucks, and I need the extra kick! The local Dodge service tech says there is nothing that can be done. Surely there is some answer to this dangerous problem. A Fuse? A Bypass of some sort? Etc.?

Did I read right 83 mph ? The engine control unit has a speed limit built in cannot go over 161 kph

Yes, 83mph. BUT - I have since found out that the actual speed is only 77mph. Seems there is a built in "false reading" [xx(]

Any Sprinter I've had (3) WILL do 97mph. I'm talking 312,313 European.

I sent the Engine Control Unit of my 2002 to http://www.speedtuningusa.com/. They claim to reprogram for increased HP and torque, and I think they are legitimate - I can tell the difference, especially with a trailer in the mountains.

Side benefit - no more speed limitation. Reached 105 mph in the middle of Nowhere, Wyoming. My better judgement convinced me to back off, but there was more in it.

hi to all,mine too,2004 pass. van,could not make more than 3,000 rpm at 80-83 mph,any solution would be appreciate,thks.
