Window Resynchronizing

Has anyone resynchronized their R-classes windows as per the ownership manual, below, and if so what does it do?

Each door window must be resynchronized separately.

Close all doors.

Switch on the ignition (page 38).

Pull and hold door window switch 1, 2, 3, or 6 (page 248).
Once a door window is closed completely, hold the respective switch for approximately 3 seconds.

The door window is synchronized

The reason that I ask is that one of my three window's (rear passenger side) is not "in step" with the other three. When we had some dents removed from this door, it looked great but was always a moment or so slow.

I previously tried resynchronizing the windows, and it didn't appear to do anything. Either I didn't do it correctly or it does something entirely different.

Thanks in advance,

Tom.

Not sure exactly what it does -- the manual calls for synchronization after replacing the battery. I did this and everything seemed to work fine afterwards; I never tried the windows without the sync step; no idea of what would have happened if I had skipped the procedure.
