I was trying to replace mine on a R500 while I took out the air box after I changed the air filter. The space is very tight and the plugs are also at an angle to take out. I eventually gave up on it since I need to change 16 of them and don't feel like struggling through it.

Good luck.

Does anyone know if you need a special MB tool to remove the boot plugs in order to change out the spark plugs? Or is it just a simple remove the airbox and pop out the boot plugs to get to them?
I have 122k on my 07' R350 I'm pretty sure the plugs are over due

They are held by two hex head screws, straightforward job.

The document is very difficult to use unless you are a trained tech but some people seem to use it without too much problem, here is a link that will inform you;
