I`m due for a B Service in a few hundred km`s for my 2006 R350. I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada and the local dealership quoted me $600 CDN for a B Service. When I asked what was included, they said oil change, tire rotation and full bumper to bumper check. I purchased this CPO vehicle just 8 months ago and it had gone through the full Star Certification inspection at that time.
Do I really need to spend $600 if what I essentially may only need is an oil change and tire rotation? I understand that they`ll perform other checks and that`s never a bad thing, but given that this was done 8 months ago and I`m not having any issues, is this worth the money?
Also, if I only ask for an oil change and tire rotation and not the full B service, does this have any negative impact or implications on the warranty? Will they reset the next service indicator if I don`t follow through with the B service? Thanks.

I'm really in to maintaining my vehicles to a high standard, but I have to agree that I really don't see a whole lot of reason to fork over hundreds for a "bumper to bumper" check. Bottom line, the service department is a profit center, and the service writers will do their best to maximize that.
Thanks for your comment. I`ll likely just go ahead with an oil change. I`m all for preventative maintenance but $600 is a bit too steep given that a full check was done just 8 months ago (brake and tranny fluids flushed, as well as all brake pads replaced) - plus whatever else is done as part of the Star Warranty certification inspection.
I won`t pass on the B or C service next time around (I believe another 15,000 kms).
