Anybody know how to replace the passenger marker light lens/bulb on an 2006 R500. Wife doesn't know how it happened...it just broke!
The plastic is kinda cheesy along the entire edge. If you push on them towards the edges, the front bottom corner tends to chip off. There aren't any screws holding the marker in place. You have to loosen the inner liner of that fender, you don't need to remove the whole thing, just loosen it so you can get your hand in. Remove the bottom plastic clips towards the front of that fender (3 of them) and 2 bolts under the front bumper (I think they are 10mm). The liner is all 1 piece, it will make sense if you look at it. Pry the liner back. Then you reach in and squeeze the plastic clip on the back of the marker and it will come out. If you pre-purchase the marker you will see what clip I am talking about so you know what to feel for. The marker is about $27. Twist out the bulb, twist in to new marker, snap in new marker and reassemble. It probably took me longer to write this response than it took me to replace mine. Good luck
you can also try reaching the housing from inside (under the hood). It's a bit more tight, but you won't have to remove any fender liners. If you stick you hand in, you will feel the clips that holds the housing in. Just push out from the inside.
Come to think of it, it you are replacing the housing all together, then it doesn't matter if you damage it further. Just pry the whole thing out. Make sure to use care when prying to avoid scratching the bumper paint. The new one just pops in.
BTW, it broke probably because someone bumped her bumper while it was parked, the bumper flexes, but the light doesn't.
