Engine Power

I just purhcased an '08 R350, and after about a week, I'm not impressed with the performance. I was wondering if there are any programmers or tuners available to give it just a little more umph.

Thanks.

Better wait until your warranty runs out.

Get another car if more power is the goal. R-class is a heavy vehicle which dulls performance. A V8 R-class will be quicker with a significant gas mileage penalty.

i too am not too impressed with the 0-60, however i bought it for better mileage and more seats.
u might want to go diesel --> R320 CDI to get better low rev torque. it won't help the 0-60 number though.

Actually, acceleration from 0-60 MPH is just about the same for most SUVs with v6 engines and better than most minivans. Highway ride is different story (Thanks for low center gravity body which helps in handling dept. than most SUV or minivans)

8.0 sec. from 0-60MPH for R350
7.9 sec. from 0-60MPH for ML350

No magic bullet to make these heavy ML and R-class rigs faster.

Jeez, it's an suv. A family hauler. If you wanted to stay in the MB family you should have considered the R/AMG.

Another choice would have been a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. I test drove one and it is one heckuva beast. Looking for acceleration? This thing will keep up with a Vette.

With the V8's comes the complaints about terrible gas mileage.

I ran a SprintBooster on my '06 R350 for over 18 months. This inexpensive module WILL cure your performance disappointments, and it is 100% reversable and transferrable to another MB vehicle in minutes.

I've driven with 6 adults on mountain roads, passed other cars in heavy traffic with NO sluggish performance whatsoever. Our '06 R350 fitted with a SprintBooster out performed our '06 ML350 hands down! Money well spent for around $300.

Don't settle for factory performance, you CAN do something about it! Invest in this module and you will very satisfied with the performance of your R Class.

MBSV, no doubt about that. I would guess the AMG and SRT would get about 12/15 in city and hwy.

I know if I had bought the SRT I would be getting less than 10mpg because the fun factor when you poked was a blast. And, I would be doing it all the time.
