Big Wheel Combo for R class, Help! Show me your ride!

Guys, I am seriously interested in upgrading the wheels on my R350. I am debating between 22" aftermarket wheels or 19"~20" Mercedes or AMG wheels. I am leaning towards the 22s. Can anyone spare some information on ride comfort and also where I can get good deals for good parts (both 22" and 19"-20")? Also, weight difference between forged 22" and cast 22". I read somewhere, a cast 22" is already 42+ pounds just the wheel alone, no tires. Can stock brake handle this? Does anyone know the weight of the stock 17" wheel with or without tires? Any input is much appreicated.

from my experience with other SUV, anything passes 20" with 40 profile is not recommended unless u have airmatic.

thanks. I did a research, stock 17" with rubber is about 58 pounds. The 22" wheels on the market I can find are around 42 pounds and tires around around 36 pounds, total 78 POUNDS!!! 20 pounds more each corner!!! This is alot. Don't know how much my pickup speed, ride comfort and gas mileage will suffer for the big wheel look?

I too had the 17" stockers and upgraded to 20" OZ Racing Canyon wheels from Tirerack. I don't have airmatic and did not have any noticeable difference in ride quality. 22's would be nice but I think if you're going to go that far it would also be wise to lower the stance a couple of inches to make it look right. Any way you go, the appearance will drastically change and you'll start getting comments from everyone on how sharp the car is!

I've upgrade my with 22" Brabus rep. wheels. With just 22" wheels, the ride hasn't been change much. For sure you get more feedback from road, but still very similar with my OEM 19". But when I've upgrade H&R spring at front. It change the handle of the car, feel sporty but alot firmer than stock. For sure, i think it look much much better with 22"

from what i've read on this forum and another forum, if you're going to put 22" on, you may want to lower the car as the space between the wheel and the body is going to be very pronounced and a little funny looking.

Here is another black one lowered with Brabus Springs in front and control arms in the back. She runs a 22 inch wheel with no problems. Handles well and looks great. If you do go 22 you must lower it or as pointed out above it will look a little funny.

Thanks guys for all the very helpful inputs! I have my H&R front springs ordered, but, can someone explain more in detail what I have to do to the rear suspension? Also, how's braking with 22"? Thanks again!
