Considering R 280

They just launched the facelifted R280L here alongside the R350L. It has the 3.0L engine but without the 4matic. The seating arrangement is 5 + 2. I have never driven an R class but have a ML and a CLS, and was considering the R for my wife. Any opinion would be appreciated.

Do it, we got our R320CDI in May 08 and love the car.

My wify uses it and the room is nice.

Just get the rear view camera and parking sensors, most people will recommend it.
We opted for the bi-xenons and as of what I have heard here in the forum you need that aswell.

Unfortunately the parking sensors are only on the R350 and no rear view camera option available. Ordering them would take another 4-5 months. the bi-xenon are standard and also the EASY PACK tailgate. I live in a tropical country so the 4matic wont be missed. Its decently equipped.

If you live in an hilly area I don't think that engine would be strong enough.

It's the same engine just tuned to produce fewer horsepower and better fuel economy.

I agree. The rear view camera is a must.

And the bi-xenons. You'll quickly regret not getting them - they're the best I've ever had.
