for those of u that have aftermarket wheels in 20", what tire brand and size did u go with. I know for 20's u can use either 265 45 20 or 275 45 20. I went with the 275's for the extra side wall. Its time to replace my tires and tire rack quoted me a price $100 more than what i paid last year for the same exact tire. I know they use petroleum to make tires but $100 more ?
I have an R63 with the original 20" wheels. The OEM Continental Tires lasted about 24,000 miles and when it came time to replace them I decided on the Michelin Latitude Tour HP in a 265/50VR20 size. I didn't have any problems with the Continentals, just wanted a more all around tire that would provide longer wear (treadwear rating of 280 for the Continental versus 440 for the Michelin) and a smoother ride. The Michelin is 1" taller which means the speedo reads approximately 3.5% low/slow which I am willing to accept as negligible and there were no fitment issues.
