I have a 2007 R320 CDI. I don't believe the 2007s have the AdBlue urea injection system. Is this engine considered a Bluetec or not?

If not, what defines a Bluetec engine - is it solely the presence of the injection system or are there other components?

Can the 2007 320 CDI be retrofitted with the AdBlue system when it becomes available?

No, its not a Bluetec. It would clearly be labeled as Bluetec on the rear (like an E320/E300). I don't think there are any plans in the works for an update kit.

BlueTec equals the AdBlue injection system. Seriously doubt a retrofit is possible. Too bad Mercedes couldn't find an alternative solution (no pun intended) to the emission regs. I know Honda has a 50-state diesel that will not require urea injection.
