Hello. I have a 2008 R and I would like to remove the middle bench seat so that we can pass between the seats in the second row. Does anyone know if this is possible?
I think it's just the matter of a loosening a few nuts and bolts to remove middle seat in the second row. But I doubt you can pass through the opening, it seems kind of too narrow.

When you order the 7th seat, there are no armrests, so children could pass through.
I can't seem to get the plastic covers (that cover the bolts) off and I'm afraid to break them. I'm also not sure what I'm going to be left with on the floor when I get it out.
I envy you 08 model Rs owner that have the 7 seat option. I wanted this option back in 06, but to no avail. If anyone wants to sell me there 7th seat, OR know where I can find the entire seat - I would be more then happy to talk numbers. The seats should come off with the removal of 4 nuts bolts.
From the pics on the MB site, you should be able to remove the bolts where it attaches to the floor. And yes, kids would be able to pass through, mine do on my 07.
Well, the screw covers come off easily (straight up as to not bend/break the plastic), but I did not remove the bolts. There is also the seatbelt anchor to be removed from the floor (underneath the carpet).
Anybody sucessfully remove the 7th seat?
IF anyone is willing to sell me there 7th seat with all the hardware I would be more then happy to discuss the amount...I am looking for the entire 7th seat and hardware. Also, if you know where i can find one from an salvage yard, Please let me know.
