Also if do these come standard with heated front seats? if not can it be added?
Only you know best of your needs and wants. Here are some points for consideration:
- COMAND Navigation can be added on as an dealer installed option, runs about $2,000 (parts + labor). Some had bought parts on ebay and saved some money.
- Heated seats (either front or back) are not standard on '07. They are stand alone options. Heated seats CANNOT be added on.
- Parktronic is also a stand alone option on '07 (unless you have a PP II). This CANNOT be added on.
- Dual DVD RSE is a pricey factory option for $3,000 including DVD headrests monitors and center console. The whole system is very nicely made. Movies sounds play through the car speakers through fiber optics producing super sound tracks a BIG +. Playing of copied DVD's is hit or miss, picky on what or what not played. There are plenty of aftermarkets for DVD headrest system out there for add-ons. Going with aftermakets you will loose the front seat headrest self restraints (ie. headrests move forward upon front collision/impacts) or will have miss-matched of headrests (with aftermarket monitors built in) and seats (from MB). Visualogic system seems to be the best but still pricey . . . prepare to pay well over $2,000 for it. Aftermarket DVD systems have movies sound play through the FM modulator to your car FM radio station, which sounds FAIR not GREAT, a BIG -.
- Agree that this is the best time to get an '07 RClass. As the '08 is a bit more pricey (+ $2,000) and no huge discount because you'll have to place an order and wait. So if you are not picky about options, flexible about colors, '07 is your best bet. Go work the dealers for 12 - 15 % off from MSRP (this includes the $3,500 marketing incentives for clearing the '07 models). If you order an '08, you'll likely get no more than 3-5% off from the higher MSRP of '08 models. Bottom line, you can save around $5,000 on '07 vs. '08 for similarly equipped cars. BTW, '08 RClass has AMG exterior appearance (18" wheels and better looking front and rear spoiler). That justifies for a $2,000 MSRP increase on '08.
- You'll enjoy the R320 -- luxury, comfort, handling, performance and most of all the mileage . . . 25 mpg average. Post what you end up doing and Good Luck.
sdteb - If you have kids, I do (three of them) I'll go with the Car with RSE. I'll also work the dealer to add Navigation (as dealer installed option) into the deal, plus other nigs nags and negotiate the whole thing for 15% or more and hope you have an aggressiver dealer who will work with you for deal.
