Hi, just bought R320 in Barolo Red but have some questions.
1. Halogen headlights - can they be aimed higher to compensate for harsh cutoff? Service dept said no. Is this right??
2. Does Panorama sunroof have auto CLOSE feature? Owners manual says yes, but car doesn't do it and dealer says feature doesn't exist. Is this a typo in the manual??
3. At night under lights the hood's finish has a weird swirl effect as if someone waxed it with rubbing compound or something - weird. Dealer says, "oh yes, the dark colors often have this look under light, but it is normal." Call me suspicious but I just find this hard to believe. Anyone ever heard of this??

thanks for the quick reply. I posted on another forum as well and your answers are very consistent with what I've heard: manual is wrong about Auto close, headlamps can't be adjusted any higher, finish on hood probably messed up by dealer during prep (which boggles my mind that they could be so sloppy/ignorant of their own vehicles!).

Keep in mind that those who washes the car are the lowest paid employee in the whole dealership.
So here's what I've learned and accomplished today.
1. Took car to showroom and spoke directly with sales manager at MB of Fort Washington (suburban Philadelphia) and he agreed immediately someone messed up prepping car. He had it detailed on the spot and car looks flawless. Lesson 1: forget the sales rep and go right to the manager or owner.
2. Mea culpa on auto close for panorama roof - -I was reading the page for the sunroof and didn't realize there was a difference. Panorama does not have auto close.
Lesson 2: read carefully
3. Halogen Headlights are adjustable according to sales associate who with tech manager in the service dept. Whether they can be aimed HIGHER than they already are is still to be determined.
Lesson 3: ask the same question to multiple people and if you don't get the same answer, see Lesson 1.
