R350 SRS restraint problems

Hi
I'm new to this thread and was looking to find out what is wrong with my car. I have an R350 and in one year I've had to bring the car in for service 5 times because of airbag malfuncion. That darn SRS warning keeps coming up.

Does anyone else have this problem? What's wrong with these cars?

it depends on what the malfunction is. but the newer cars have an issue with high resistance in the aitbag wiring. well that is what mercedes says and they came out with a dtb that if the codes for high resistance in driver airbag too high, that we have to solder in new wires to the existing wires at the steering column. now if the wires arent soldered properly the light will come back on. but to be honest i am not sure mercedes even knows if this issue is the cause.

but again it depends are they different things each time or the same thing

I have a similar problem in out R350. I always get a message from the message center saying that the "Passenger Air Bag is Disabled". I also have the problem of the seat beat warning coming on for the passenger seat when no one is sitting in the passenger seat.

I had a similar problem with my 3 week old 2006 R350 when I bought it last year. Here is the link to the resolution http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w251...nt#post2097820

SRS Restraint Issue Shortly After Service

Although easily resolved, it happened to me twice in one year. First time was within 48 hours of my initial 1,000 mile service, second time was within 24 hours of my service B...coinicidence?

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Had the same problem 3 times in the last year and they say it needed to be recaliberated.... As for some one saying about "passenger side airbag disabled" this is normal when there is no one in the passenger seat this message is displayed.

But it isn't normal to have that message displayed when you have someone sitting on the passenger seat. Its was unnerving when we were on a 500 mile road trip.
