Cup Holder with Stowage?

We have the R Class without the rear centre console therefore have no rear cup holders or storage compartments.

The UK accessories brochure lists, Cup holder with stowage compartment
fitted between rear seats in 2nd row - Part No B6 692 0121, but there is no picture of it.

Does anyone have this or a picture of it? I asked my dealer but they have never seen it nor does their parts system show a picture of it.

Hi Sooty,

Have you considered ice chests with lids that have molded in beverage holders? In the States Coleman Xtreme Cooler 62QT $50 and Coleman Cooler 36QT $30 are often jammed between the seats on minivans and SUVs.

I am asuming that the one listed in the UK accessory brochure is something similar to the one from Park Place. Here in the UK though the price from MB is £105, just over $200. The Park Lane one is over $300 and by the look of it, they dont ship outside the US.

I had considered the ice box method. I also considered making my own from fibreglass but I am a bit fussy about having things that look as though they belong to the car.

I think I will just order the one listed in the MB book and see what it looks like. I'm not really bothered about the cup holders, its mainly somewhere for the kids to put all their junk, ipods etc.

I half expeted cupholders or an ashtray in the back of the front centre console the same as my ML but its just a blanking plate on the R. Had I been speccing the build of the car, I would have ordered the 2nd row console instead of the armrests but It was a pre specced car with a large discount.

This, for us, is the best alternative to OEM cup holder...

Negatives:
1. Color is only Black
2. Built in cup holders are only good for cans (my r500 has cup holder for the middle row behing the front arm rests so non issue for me)..

Positives:
1. Power connector is up in the front so plugs right into the back of the front arm rests and the length of the cord can be easily managed.
2. A freezer on the go...
3. fits almost perfectly right in the middle.
4. if not used of as freezer then it is handy storage.
5. portable


This was a great find for me just before a long road trip at a local walmart.
