Prototype Running Boards!!!!

Hello to all, I have posted before on the GL and ML groups...

We have a new prototype we are working on for the R-Class.

Running Boards, which haven't been available... Please let me know what you all think.. We are considering production based on several factors one of which will be your responses.

Thanks.

How much weight can they hold? Or are they purely cosmetic?

Obviously they are cosmetic and yet can hold approximately 300lbs.

Plenty functional for the kids to crawl in the back seat with.

Still a prototype though...

Looks Good

i'd buy one. only if you could lower it about 1 more inch, or maybe "fatten" it up and put lighting on it.

Looks good but I'd like to see the running board fit more flush to the side of the car. I might be more functional a bit wider and with lights as the previous post states. At the right price, I would be interested.

The boards, by themselves, look great. OTH, these boards installed on the Rclass look kind of out-of-place, since the R looks more like a sport station wagon and not at all as a typical SUV, IMO.

Plus, the R sits quite lower than Mclass or GLclass. So running boards are not necessary. People who drive an Rclass are in favor of car-like look and not SUV-like look. So I dont think these boards are of good demand from Rclass owners.

Your poll results should give a good indication of demand.
