R500 rock magnet

Anyone else having problems with rock chips. We've had the car since November and the hood, A pillars, bumper and mirrors are covered with rock chips. I've never seen anything like it before. Would it be because of the angle of the front end or maybe really bad paint?

Chips on . . . hood, pillars, bumper, and mirrors! OUCH !!! Front end angle if anything would help this, not hurt as you described.
Can you post some pictures? Bad paint/finish (unique to your car) can't be ruled out.

Out car also has a significant amout of small chips on the leading edge of the hood. What color is your car, ours is pewter. it seems as if the majority of our chips are only on the hood, like the paint is of lesser quality on the hood. I am trying to meet with the dealer about it in a week or so

Just noticed a chip on the bonnet this morning and only just over a month old!
The SL has only 2 and it's done 14000 miles.

Ours is black I will get my insurance to look at it. The dealer said it was my fault for driving on crappy roads. My tahoe is over 1 year old and not one chip... and I drive the same way, same roads.

I think its the bad paint, my hood has many of them and two are really deep long dings, more of a scratch, but deffinetly from rocks. I say its the paint thats poor!

At 11,600 miles, she has more chips on the hood than my Expedition had with 111,000 miles.
