Service "C" already?

Getting "Service C is due in 20 days" message on my MFD. 2006 R500 with 6000 miles. Seems too soon to me for service "C". Did everyone here get a similar message at or around 6K miles?

My A message is showing @ 8800 miles. Seems the system decides what is due by your driving style.

Service due

We have the service due in 12 days message now and the car only has about 7,500 miles on it. Apparently it is one year from when the car left the factory. One dealer told me the service should be done at that one year mark. However, another told me it should have been reset by the dealer when the car was sold. I am going to wait until the one year from sold date and have the service done at that time.
They quoted me around $300 for the service. A lot of money for an oil change.

I suggest you to change your oil every 6000k with synthetic, because when I changed mine it was black. the 13k is all bs, an advertisement gimick that benz is so good. You will see how black the oil looks if you wait until 13k. You don't have to go to a service center and pay $150-399$, you can go to your local shop and change it for $60.

The crankcase in ALL Diesels turns black very soon after an oil change due to the soot deposited on the cylinder walls....NORMAL. Remeber Diesels longevity is aided by the lubricity of the fuel itself unlike gasoline which can wash the protective oil coating from the cylinder walls. There are 8 quarts of crankcase oil which dilutes the contaminants and this allows for longer intervals between oil changes.
