Tyre Pressure Monitor in 2007 UK models

Is it standard in the UK? Doubt it somehow but you can't select it as an option in UK configurator and isn't listed as a standard fitting. Maybe MB have missed it off their site.

I do not know about your original question, but, tire pressure monitor (TPMS) is not that useful - it will not warn you until the tire pressure is really low and that too depends on a lot other factors - the difference between the psi of the 4 tires, etc.

I recently checked the tire pressure in my R350 with a mechanical pressure gauge - the rear tires were low by 4 psi. And the TPMS of course did not warn me about it. Most TPMSs do not measure the tyre pressure directly, instead they infer it from other parameters.

You may also want to read the question I posed on edmunds.com blog (long term R500 test) and the response I got:

Thanks Ravinj. I'm really just curious about why it doesn't appear in the configurator. It wasn't an option I wanted anyway as I'd heard the problems some people had had. Guy I work beside had a tyre change and had to take the car back to the garage to have the TPMS reset. I know it isn't that often that would happen but it would be a pain having to do that.
