Thanks! yeah, I thought if I was going to get a family car, that we'd get something cool...and very stealth!
the calipers are actually orange and no chrome at all.
Wow! that's a great deal on the springs. Maybe you can PM me your source? I'll send you a PM as a reminder...
re: the mods for the CLS. I'm assuming your talking about the the links modification. It works on airmatic suspensions ONLY. I did it on my old E500 and did it on my SL and Cayenne.
I wish we could do the same on the R because it acheived the look i was looking for and barely changed the ride quality!
The rear on the R (w/o airmatic) is self leveling air, meaning as soon as you drop the front, the back will even out automatically without modification (ie. BMW 7 series w/o air suspension). Note that the back will most likely be hiked up a bit compared to the front.
makes me wish I would have sprung for the airmatic...
thanks, man!
I honestly wasn't crazy about the car either when it came out.
but with our need for a family car/grocery-getter, plus the great deal I got on it, I knew that I could do something unique.
now with all the mods, I have to tell ya...I Love it!
Besides, my 500hp+ Cayenne isn't exactly baby friendly.
What did you do with your stock rear tail lamp lenses/assemblies. Someone just backed into my R, and I could use a replacement for the driver side rear tail lamp lens or assembly. Just my luck, someone on ebay is selling one for a buy-it-now price of $59, but for the passenger side. Anyone else know where I could find one? Thanks! Marty
sorry, man. can't help you...
mine are tinted and not replaced.
Thanks for replying, anyway. Apparently, they are not too expensive at $156.75 brand new from the dealer. It looks like that will be my direction, unless the shop that advertised one for $59 (ebay - buy it now) can find a driver's side rather than passenger side tail light assembly. Thanks again!!

Why not lower it the correct way. The Airmatic system can be manipulated without modifications to the acutal components. Ok, if your airmatic system fails, where will your car sit? SLAMMED TO THE GOUND, correct?
Take advantage of the systems ability, use a lowering module, tap into the vehicle ride height parameters, modify them and get up to 50mm of slammed to the ground effects.
I am lowering it the correct way. I DO NOT have airmatic. the R350 comes with coils in the front with self leveling air suspension in the rear.
I am very versed with the proper suspension modifications if you would read a few posts up. I've lowered my E500, SL500, and Cayenne Turbo with the airmatics upgrades.
