I am currently shopping for a R also and I see both colors many times in the dealership. I think Alpin blue looks much better than white, since white makes the car less sporty and less agressive looking
My wife has actually seen a white R loaner from the front while she was driving and she throught it is a Chrysler mini-van...... = (
Well this car is for my mom but im paying for it so i get to pick. My mom is fine with either alpine, white or silver so long as they have a black interior and the minimum of a premium package. I personally like the white more, ive always favored white and black cars except i dont like black on this car. I will obviously add some of my flavor to it (wheels, tint, etc) and feel white is easier to mod than alpine just because white is a common bright color but alpine is more of a classier color. I dont have a good vision of alpine on chrome 20s with blacked out windows/windshield but then again i havent seen any pics. I saw a stock white with AMG pkg and i thought it was beautiful, add my black windows and viola.
No offense to who kept them on, but those stock 17s are just plain WACK!
Maybe I should consider silver? its just that everyone has silver here.....
As of now they are saying 3 of the whites are sold paid in full, 2 have deposit and are reserved. However the only alpine is also reserved for me and just like me one of the whites might cancel. The Alpine is scheduled for delivery to me tomorrow and more advice from fellow member here would be appreciated along with pics. Should i take alpine tomorrow, fish for silver (which appears in inventory but obviously that doesnt mean anything) or hold out for the white and tell them unless they give me one of the ones they are holding for pending buyers ill wait for the next chancing losing the only alpine on black that they have. What makes it all worse is that its the end of the model year and i think what they have is what they will have for the time to come, i doubt MB is still producing 06 Rs.
BTW, im in the industry which is why i got that price however being in this business i know no one will "locate" a car from another dealer on a bare bone deal like this. Deals like this are only made to move inventory. Im paying more finance charge in the lease than depreciation.
Please please please help me decide by tomorrow, the dealers opinion is biased as he wants to move the unit im set up for.

Well, I'm posting this probably after you took delivery of your new R-Class. Iridium Silver is nice, I have the Desert Silver. Whatever you choose, the right wheel complement will make the difference.
Sounds like your Mom's gonna sport one nice ride! What did you end up getting? BTW, what state are you in?
Unfortunately I was too busy to schedule a delivery of the R class today. I suppose thats positive as I still have not decided which color to go with. Maybe I can do it tomorrow or possibly next week. Im in NY
BTW, the first car he offered my that I stuck on was desert silver with mac interior. Thats one elegant looking car but I had to drop it as my mom wasnt feeling the mac interior.

Looks like your NY dealer has a limited inventory. Can you get a similar deal in New Jersey? Ray Catena has over 40R350's, and over 25R500's in stock. Quite a few color combo's there. I was at the dealership last month, they seem to be very reputable.

I have the Desert Silver/Macadamia R350. Mac interior is notorious for showing dirt. Ash interiors hold up pretty well and the lighter color is a bit more cheerful. I have it in my sedan.
My Ulitimate color choice is Pewter, which wasn't available with the Rear Seat Entertainment System when I purchased my R-Class. I guess we can't have everything!
