Question Seeking purchase advise & info

I am considering purchasing a new R350 and was hoping to get some guidance from some forum members. Based on what I have read, the R350 is not selling as well as MB had hoped. I have heard that dealers are discounting prices. I checked the web sites of a couple of local dealers and found that one had 12 in stock and the other, 19!

Specifically, I am curious about the discounting and what amounts of discount are being offered. Additionally, I am wondering if I should wait a couple of months until closer to the arrival of the '07 models. I'm thinking that dealers may possibly discount more to get rid of any current year cars.

Any input would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

I purchase my R350 Memorial Day Weekend, it had an MSRP of $60,700 and is very well equipped. After brief negotiations (20 mins max), I was able to strike a deal for $51,146 + tax & lic. saving over $9,500 off MSRP! I believe if I were a better negotiator, I may have saved even more.

I've read recently online that MB is giving dealerships $5K incentive towards each R-Class sold. So you should consider minus $5K from MSRP as your starting point. If you are a Costco member, get their best deal and shoot below that price. I spoke with a dealership in Las Vegas, they told me all 2006 R-Class vehicles have been shipped and current inventories are it for '06 models.

I hope this info. is helpful. Don't forget, your local dealer can pull inventory from any Mercedes dealership in your state, get what you really want.

Many dealers are willing to part with the R for $4-5k off INVOICE. Start there (or below), not at MSRP. There is still profit for the dealer even at invoice minus the $5k MB incentive. And if you can, buy before month's end...they are really motivated now.

You should be able to get about $8-10K off MSRP. The $5k off invoice is a minimum. I saved $10k off MSRP on mine, which was about $7k off invoice. It's rumored that the $5k to dealers should be around until the end of July.

The deals aren't going to last. After a very slow start, R-Class sales are starting to pick up (obviously the discounts help, but they also get the word out that the car isn't half bad). Despite the conception that the vehicle is a poor seller, it is on track to meet sales goals.

I was at the dealership in Valencia here in Southern CA last night, every R-Class on the lot had a $10K off MSRP sign on it. What a starting point to begin negotiations...Happy 4th of July!

I got my R500 few days ago. Loaded with all options except Rear Seat Entertainment Package, Keyless Go, and Multicontour Front Seats. MSRP was $73,250. Negotiated and got the deal at $65,000 + tax and tag. Dealer gave me all weather mats, carge tray, crate container.

How many R owners purchased Benz extended warranty? I extened my through dealership for 36 months for $3800. Not sure is bargain.

I just got $10K off list on any in stock R350 - more could be had on the R500. Somebody else on the list claims they got $16K off list, but not clear if it was a new car or not. The discounts are way above the $7K dealer incentive!
